Going into 2:22 completely blind was one of the best decisions I could have made. I’d heard of the play but knew nothing about the story, and from the moment it began, I was hooked.

What makes this production so clever is the way it balances genuine suspense with perfectly timed humour. The audience laughed, screamed, gasped and jumped throughout, yet underneath it all, there was a constant sense of unease. Just when you thought you could relax, the tension would quietly creep back in.

The cast were excellent. With only four actors carrying the entire production, every character felt believable and authentic. Their chemistry kept the dialogue flowing naturally, drawing the audience further and further into the mystery unfolding on stage.

The set design was deceptively simple but incredibly effective. Nothing felt overcomplicated or distracting. Instead, it created exactly the right atmosphere and allowed the story to take centre stage.

What I loved most was how the play kept everyone guessing. During the interval, audience members were already exchanging theories and trying to piece together the clues. I was convinced I had some idea where it was heading, but I couldn’t have been more wrong.

The ending completely blindsided me. As someone who loves psychological thrillers and usually guesses the plot before the end, I genuinely did not see this one coming. The final moments were shocking, emotional and deeply affecting, leaving me thinking about the story long after the curtain call.

A gripping, clever and brilliantly executed production that had me captivated from start to finish.

2:22 A Ghost Story
Date(s): Mon 8 Jun – Sat 13 Jun 2026

“THERE’S SOMETHING IN OUR HOUSE. I HEAR IT EVERY NIGHT, AT THE SAME TIME”
Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it.

They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben.

Can the dead really walk again?

Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer, so they’re going to stay up… until 2:22… and then they’ll know. Due to circumstances beyond his control, Gary Lucy is no longer joining the 2026 leg of the UK tour of 2:22 A Ghost Story.

Grant Kilburn from the 2025 cast of the UK tour will be rejoining the company to reprise the role of Ben.
